The National Qualifications Unit of TNQAB
22 January 2026Work-attachment by a 3-member team from TNQAB to the Samoa Qualifications Authority (SQA) in Apia on the Samoan island of Upolu, has been described my the team members as success. The team included the CEO Dr. ‘Opeti Pulotu, Risk analyst Miss Siniva Samani, and leader of the National Qualifications Unit Mr. Vilimaka Foliaki.
The work attachment included 3-day working within SQA to observe their own quality assurance processes, organizational structure, management and resource use, and site visits to training providers on both Upolu and Savaii.
The site visit to the National University of Samoa (NUS) took place on Friday 17 February. This visit was an eye-opening experience to actually witness the high level of training and delivery of quality, inclusive and relevant technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Samoa, due to effective model of collaboration between the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC), NUS, and SQA.
The TNQAB trip to Samoa and work attachment to SQA was organized and supported through the APTC-TNQAB partnership.
